Fire resistance and airtightness | Elastic fire sealant suitable for gaps and joints in construction.
A modified silicone-based elastic fireproof sealing material that expands with heat and suppresses flames. It can be used for gap treatment in wooden structures and around equipment.
In wooden construction, gaps are likely to occur at junctions where different materials such as columns, beams, fireproof covering materials, hardware, and equipment piping intersect. In addition to maintaining airtightness under normal conditions, it is crucial to suppress the intrusion of flames, smoke, and heat during a fire. Sekisui fireproof sealant, under normal conditions, follows the movement of building components due to its flexible rubber elasticity, demonstrating airtightness and water resistance at the joints. During a fire, the sealing material expands and sinters due to high temperatures, forming a strong ceramic layer. This contributes to the suppression of flames, smoke, and heat intrusion from the joints. In fire resistance performance verification tests conducted at the Japan Building Disaster Prevention Association, a joint width of 10mm and depth of 10mm in wall sections demonstrated a fire resistance of 1 hour, while a joint width of 20mm and depth of 20mm in floor sections demonstrated a fire resistance of 2 hours. 【Features】 ■ One-component moisture-curing modified silicone sealant. Demonstrates airtightness, adhesion, and flexibility under normal conditions. ■ Expands approximately three times during a fire, forming a strong ceramic layer. ■ Suppresses the intrusion of flames, smoke, and heat from the joints due to flame, smoke, and heat shielding effects. ■ Complies with JISA5158 durability category 8020: high weather resistance and durability. Certification can be issued. ■ F☆☆☆☆, 4VOC compliant: no restrictions on interior use.
